HLAA's Statement of Strategic Intent

At our June 2012 meeting in Providence, RI, the HLAA Board of Trustees adopted a Statement of Strategic Intent. The Statement has been almost two years in the making, and is the result of a collaborative process between HLAA management and staff together with members of the Board of Trustees. In a series of meetings, our discussions were guided by the chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, Jim DeCaro; Past President Peter Fackler; and our facilitator, Robb Adams of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, Rochester Institute of Technology. We greatly appreciate the valuable input we received from former Board members, HLAA leaders, parents of children with a hearing loss and external contacts and organizations. The information contained in the surveys so many of you completed was invaluable in the crafting of this document. The Statement is intended to provide a framework for the programs and services which the executive director and staff develop and conduct to fulfill its objectives.
